MEET THE FLYING LADY CAPTAINS

Meet our Captains

Welcome to Flying Lady Boat Tours, where we provide first-class narrated boat tours. Our skilled captains, who we are delighted to introduce to you, are the driving force behind our success.

Our captains are passionate about providing exceptional service and guaranteeing your safety while having a wealth of boating knowledge and experience. They are qualified to operate our boats safely and effectively since they have received extensive training and obtained the required credentials.

However, our captains bring more to the table than just their technical knowledge. Along with being excellent hosts and communicators, they go above and beyond to make you feel at ease and well-cared for while traveling. Your experience onboard the Flying Lady will be richer because to their in-depth knowledge of the places we visit and their ability to offer insightful stories.

We are aware that the captain serves as the public face of our firm, and we are convinced that you will find our crew to be amiable, competent, and dedicated to making your experience with us unforgettable. Therefore, take a seat back, unwind, and let our captains take you on a boating adventure you won’t soon forget.

Captain Matt Wurth

Captain Matt has a lifetime on the water. Growing up in Ohio, he spent a lot of time on fresh water lakes. He attended Power Squadron classes with his parents at a young age for navigating Lake Erie before GPS and state of the art electronics were mainstream.

In 2007, Captain Matt moved to Florida where he spent much of his time on on Florida’s inland waters with a heavier focus on Lake Okeechobee as he competed locally in Largemouth Bass Tournaments. Since that time, Captain Matt has owned numerous vessels transiting both Gulf waters around Sanibel and Marco Islands and a much heavier presence in the waters of the Palm Beaches.

While being a life long recreational boater, Captain Matt took professional schooling at Chapman School Of Seamanship in Stuart, FL to obtain his Merchant Mariner Credential aka, captains license. He is trained in First Aid/CPR/AED and also volunteers spare time with the Palm Beach County Sherriff Volunteer Marine Unit. Captain Matt holds a USCG issued Master Inland 25t/OUPV Near Coastal License with towing assistance.

Captain Matt knows how to have a great time on the water while maintaining a special emphasis on safety. He has maintained a flawless boating record with zero recorded incidents at sea. As such, Captain Matt wants all guests to have a great time on board the Flying Lady as safely as possible and has final authority in all matters relating to the operation of the vessel.

Captain Rob Rogerson

He placed in the top 10 of the Beach to Beach Power Swim long course division, was 3rd overall in the Love City Triathlon, and is a finisher of the grueling St John Trail Race, 8 Tuff miles road run, and Paddle the Park SUP race.

Rob’s passion for sailing began at the age of 12 when he learned to sail in summer camp in his home state of Florida. He’s been sailing ever since. For ten years Rob was the first mate on the 50-foot catamaran “Mariah” that offered snorkeling and sunset sails in the Palm Beaches. He has a passion for classically designed boats and has competed in Washington’s Birthday Classic boat Regatta 8 times. His girlfriend Michelle, and good friend Roberto won the event in 2015 on his Sea Pearl “Anhinga”, an adaptation of a Herreshoff design.
