Meet Captain Mark

Jupiter Boat Tours with Captain Mark from the Manatee Queen

Meet Your Captain

As a Palm Beach County native, Captain Mark has always enjoyed the vast ecosystems and history of the area. With a twinkle in his eye, he always says “Growing up here wasn’t bad. From surfing, fishing, diving, etc. everything we did was based in or around the water.” Upon graduation and a little traveling Mark decided to pursue his growing passion for cooking. It was while working as a personal chef in a private home Mark was introduced to the yachting industry.

After 6 years onboard private yachts with positions from chef to mate Mark was chomping at the bit to get his hands on the wheel of one these magnificent vessels. His mentors Captain Bob & Captain Jim noticed Marks interest and slowly began teaching him what it takes to handle, maintain and manage vessels of size. Captain Mark now has a USCG 200 ton Master license and has cruised his way all throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Northwest. In 2012 Mark decide that being home with his family was the most important thing in the world, so he came back to his beloved Jupiter.

For the last 7 years, Captain Mark has been a driving force in Jupiter’s tourism and has entertained thousands of people from all around the world onboard the Manatee Queen, Jupiter’s most reviewed and longest running tour boat. Last summer (2018) the owner of the Manatee Queen could not secure dockage in the Jupiter area and was forced to sell the boat and Mark found himself in an unexpected situation. His thoughts… go back to yachts…or start his own tour boat company. Then the idea of Flying Lady Tours became the perfect decision.

Captain Mark

“The thing I couldn’t step away from was the people. I have been blessed for the last 7 years meeting and entertaining wonderful people from all over the world and they have given me the privilege to show them what I think is one of the most special places in our great state. The show must go on!” When Captain Mark is not entertaining onboard the Flying Lady you can try to find him and his soon to be wife Lyndsey and their Colorado mountain dog Buddha wondering the back roads in their trusted vintage van Norman. “Sometimes it’s just good to completely unplug and get away. A very wise man once told me. The key to living is the sheer exhilaration of where you are.”
